Cork love

9/16/2015

Let’s start with some interesting facts about the material cork, followed by some beautifully styled photos. Apparently 50% of the world’s cork is produced in Portugal. Why is cork a popular material to use in design? Because it’s eco-friendly and sustainable.

I saw so many items made from cork whilst on holiday in Portugal, but I didn’t quite find what I was looking for. Actually I did, but the shop I found wasn’t open.. However, I have spotted the collection at Amara Living. It’s called Amorim. It’s nice and minimal and has got a really nice design. Hop over to Amara to discover the minimal AMORIM collection.

I’m sure we’ve all heard about the Sinnerlig collection by Isle Crawford and IKEA by now..

These images containing cork and some of the Sinnerlig collection have been beautifully styled by Weekday Carnival.

The mixture of interesting shapes and shades of brown look great on this white shelf. The cork coasters fit in well and add a bit of colour.
