NEW HOME – BEFORE PICTURES

12/16/2016

So I’ve mentioned a few times that we’ve finally bought a new home!!! We’re really excited and now in the process of renovating it. We’ve already had most of the walls plastered and the central heating has been completely changed. We’ve had everything from the pipes to the boiler and all the radiators changed. Yes, all the gold radiators have been removed! I’ll show you our new designer radiators soon. I’m so pleased with them. They look even better than they did in the photos on the Best Heating website. I’m sure you’ll love them too!

Our new home was designed by an architect and built in 1967. It was built to enjoy the views and has got enormous windows. This was what we really liked about the house. It was different to most things on the market. That and it needed work. Although my husband said no more renovation projects years ago.. He was really keen to buy this house too. After viewing this house for the first time we both had a good feeling about it. There’s quite a lot of work to be done, but the house was built well in the first place and it’s been really well looked after. It is 49 years after all. I think it must have looked very modern back then.

It might surprise you, but we’re keeping the wooden ceilings. It’s a part of what makes the house different and it wouldn’t look the same without it. Because we’ve got high ceilings and lots of big windows, I think it makes for an interesting feature. What do you think?

I can’t wait the start buying furniture and lamps! I love lamps!!!

As well as the carpets, the colours will be changed. There will be some white walls, but also some colours. I will reveal more soon.. There’s so much to come in 2017!

Wow, a new house. That sounds so exciting. The windows are gorgeous and I agree, just because of the light that flows in it was worth it.
Have fun renovating. I’m excited to see what you’ll make of it.

Now this is a gorgeous house! Even though some of the features aren’t up to date, they’re still cool enough to live with until you have time to make it your own. Can’t wait to see what you do with the design!
