I love visiting new places, so when I was invited on a press trip to Elie, Scotland I was more than happy to accept. Elie is only about 25 minutes from St Andrews. I spent the afternoon walking the streets of St Andrews before the quick drive to Elie. Elie has been described as the quintessential British holidaymaker’s dream and I couldn’t agree more. It’s so pretty.
Recently launched website Elie Select, is a family run business that offers a of handpicked luxury holiday homes in Elie, each personally chosen for its unique style. We were lucky to visit three of the homes and one was a clear favorite for me. I know you’ll like it too. My favourite home was Midrock House. The contemporary eco beach house had a great mix of materials and stunning views.
We did a gin tasting here with Darnley’s gin. What a great place to start the evening. Because there are so many windows and sliding doors here, the views are ever changing. Back to the lovely gin though. Did you know it goes really well with ginger beer?
Built in 2014, this eco house has two wood burners to keep you cosy when the nights start drawing in, three sitting areas and a large dining table. This home sleeps 12 people.

Who would have thought of using OSB on the walls, as well as the ceiling?! I think it looks great and it’s such a brilliant eco-friendly material too.
