It’s time to introduce another artist I’ve found on Instagram. The bold artwork by Kate Chernienko, is so current and I love her style. Kate is both an artist and a photographer and she’s from Kiev, Ukraine. Let’s find out more about her and Kateche Studio!
WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND?
I was an office worker for five years, first a lawyer and then in IT. But I always knew that my mission is was art, the last couple of years were decisive for me, I could not immediately change the scope of my work, but I did it and now I am extremely happy to start this new way.
WHAT DOES YOUR WORK AIM TO SAY?
Everything that I do happens intuitively, all images are born in my head and I feel the need to transfer it to paper! Art for me is a freedom, there are no rules, everyone can play as his soul tells him. My creativity is about the combination of abstract forms and colours.
WHAT WORK DO YOU MOST ENJOYING DOING?
I like all the stages of creating a picture from idea to realisation, but most of all I am fascinated by my passion for creating lines and strokes, this is similar to the meditative state, when there are no unnecessary thoughts just you and your work, and of course shooting of finished works, photography is another passion, that I love so much.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ART WORK?
I like Bauhaus and their influence on photography, architecture, art and design! I am close to the idea of avoiding everything that is superfluous and focusing on the simple, almost naked, ability to see beauty in the simple.
WHO ARE YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCES?
Definitely it is contemporary art, architecture and design, new trends in these scopes. But I also take inspiration from more ordinary things, such as the shadow of fallen light, my morning rituals, the smell of a new perfume, time spent outside or possibility to be by myself.
Which current art world trends are you following?
The main trend for me is minimalism, I am applied not only in creating my works but also in life in general.
WHAT WOULD BE YOUR DREAM PROJECT?
I dream non stop, develop my style and create something new each time without relying on someone else’s vision. And over time, I would like to open my showroom, where everyone could see and purchase my artworks.
WHAT DOES A NORMAL STUDIO DAY LOOK LIKE?
I start my work with early waking up and a cup of coffee. better time for me is the beginning of the day, and in the evening I leave for shooting, during sunset I get the most beautiful and diverse shots.
WHERE CAN WE BUY YOUR WORK?
I sell my work through Instagram, in the future I want to make а website, but at the moment everyone can see my works and ask questions in my account @kateche___studio.
Thank you so much for sharing, Kate!
