As much as I love wooden garden furniture, there’s no contest for longevity when it comes to metal.
Designed by Thomas Bentzen, the man responsible for much of what New Nordic design is today, Muuto’s Linear collection represents a sophisticated and understated way of presenting modern materials.
Based on a classic bistro aesthetic, Linear is, as its name suggests, all about straight lines. It is inspired by the meeting of lines, the meeting of shapes and materials. This collection is a gorgeous edition to a more minimal outdoor space and I could totally see it fitting in well on our decking. It needs a fresh coat of paint first though, winter has not been kind to it!
Welded steel has been powder coated with a weather-resistant, deep matt finish. Despite the tough materials though, it has a soft look to it, owing to the gentle curve along the top of the chair. This is modern garden furniture that feels both classic yet contemporary. And I like that you can build your own collection with a choice of a bench, armchair and side chair as well as a smaller cafe style table if the larger table won’t work in your garden or balcony.
Available in an earthy colour palette of dark green and burnt orange or a bold black or off-white it lends itself well to urban garden spaces. Which colour would you choose?
