Stockholm Apartment with a Minimal Grey Kitchen

This small Stockholm apartment is big on New Nordic style. Situated in the Ostermalm Gardet district, known for its modernist apartments, this new build is only three years old. the building looks stunning. The wood cladding looks stunning. I can’t wait to do out house next year. Aren’t the small balconies are great? Some outdoor space is so important, as we all know, now more than ever. I think it’s such a shame that UK apartments often lack a balcony.

It was the minimal Poliform kitchen that caught my eye first. You know I love a kitchen. The grey-green units and limestone splashback look so sophisticated. The frame of the units cleverly partitions a cooking area on one side and open shelving and sink on the other. I’ve spotted a Georg Jensen Bernadotte classic on the shelves too among a gorgeous collection of ceramic bowls and cook books.

Tan leather Series 7 chairs from Fritz Hansen add a little warmth to the mid grey tones in the dining space and I love the marble topped trestle dining table.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a bean bag that looked cool in a living room so this one wins hands down. Picked in the same off-white as the slubby linen sofa, the living space takes on a soothing, tonal feel with light oak floors. The marble coffee table designed by Norm Architects is available from MENU. I’d quite happily sit here watching the rain on the balcony!

It’s super minimal in the bedroom which continues the neutral decor. Just a little foot stool for a bedside table and cosy layered throws and linen cushions on the bed. But the real feature is the door leading onto the balcony. I’d be happy to work from home from here, wouldn’t you? Especially with a nice candle or two!
